Saturday, April 28, 1-5PM, McLean VA & Sunday, 11AM-2PM National Gallery of Art
Elizabeth and I are thrilled to have you aboard for the Moveable Paintbox Watercolor quick sketch workshop!
Saturday April 28, 1PM-5PM
The workshop begins at the Jackson House, a 17th century farmhouse in McLean, VA. The afternoon of painting and drawing begins with a tour of the house. We then split into two groups for group demonstration and one on one instruction. We will break for light refreshments and groups will switch instructors. If weather permits, we will tour and paint the grounds as well as indoors. The workshop will conclude with a casual group reflection on the afternoon's work.
Sunday, April 29, 11AM-2PM
National Gallery of Art, East Wing. We will meet in Gallery 103 C, just to the left of the entrance off of 4th St. We will sketch in the galleries, in pencil. We will then split into two groups for a quick pencil sketch demo then work one on one. We will conclude our workshop in the Museum's Cascade Cafe. As this is a public cafe we will be working at available tables and/or benches, to incorporate color into the drawings that we made in the museum. Part of the experience we are pleased to offer you is the chance to do the creative work of imagining color for our sketches and to do this in a public space such as a cafeteria. Past students have described this as a transformative experience.
